Summary: Many nonprofit employees are deeply connected with their work, even suggesting it is their life’s calling. On the one hand, this determination helps these devoted people commit to their work even as they experience obstacles and setbacks. On the other hand, burnout and emotional exhaustion among these individuals has reached a crescendo, in part because determination alone can prove brittle in the long run. It’s become clear that resilience is also needed to ward off burnout – and the good news is that there are strategies leaders can use to promote it within their teams.

Resilience is also important at the organizational level, where it is defined as the ability to adjust positively under challenging conditions and emerge stronger. Nimble organizations plan for the best and prepare for the worst, not relying too heavily on past success to predict future outcomes. This evidence-based session explores the psychological needs of purpose-driven employees and the success factors of resilient organizations, while offering practical tips and strategies that nonprofit leaders can adopt right away.

This was the best webinar from Charity Village I have attended. I was glued to my screen the whole time. And 18 months into the pandemic and after watching a zillion webinars, my engagement was a testament to the quality of the speakers and the topic. Thank you and well done!
