Did you know that in 1997 the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta was the first to introduce a 2-1-1 service? The success 2-1-1 garnered in the United States opened services in Toronto, Canada in 2002. 1 Later, in 2000, the Federal Communications Commission approved 2-1-1 nationwide as a short number in the United States.

PFLAG is the first and largest national chapter-based organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.
