They will be social networking sessions with like-minded people, with no formal agenda or takeaways. Salons will be moderated peer-sharing sessions, organized around a specific topic and set takeaways; salon sessions will last 90 minutes and be spread out over the conference.

We are using a hybrid unconference/workshop model in which participants work collaboratively to explore and brainstorm a few pre-selected "wild ideas" for future museum initiatives related to audience participation. It's slowly moving from the "dream" stage to the "possible" stage - but it's still far from being real.
