Marketing Cloud Architect in the USA or Canada

The Cloud for Good Marketing Cloud Architect, Digital is responsible for designing solutions and providing overall technical guidance for Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation projects, driving services team enablement, and contributing to pre-sales and sales support for potential clients. Successful candidates will be Marketing Cloud experts ready to design innovative digital solutions for nonprofit or higher education clients. 

The objectives of the Cloud for Good Marketing Cloud Architect are to provide excellent service and value to clients through Salesforce implementation projects as a senior functional and technical resource, and to create a learning pathway for consultants to gain solution design and project leadership skills. Specifically, Marketing Cloud Architects are responsible for:  

  • Assessing client requirements to develop technical solution architecture 
  • Serving as the Solution Architect on projects, thus ensuring technical project success and assisting the implementation team in delivering the designed solutions 
  • Providing sales support  
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve our practice, and subsequently designing and delivering internal projects  
  • Designing and Developing Marketing Cloud enterprise solutions 
  • Coaching and mentoring junior consultants working on the same team/vertical  

Like other senior roles at Cloud for Good, this is an outcomes-driven role.  This role has a billable utilization quota and requires driving towards stated outcomes related to enablement, sales, and mentoring to be successful.   

Location: Virtual: Home-based office in the USA or Canada.    

Travel: 10-20%

Responsibilities 

  • Provide solution architecture designs and recommendations for project implementations 
  • Work with clients and project teams to anticipate/identify project risks, resolve issues, and achieve client satisfaction  
  • Gather feedback from clients and identify best practices and lessons learned from client projects to improve and refine Cloud for Good’s service delivery approach  
  • Serve as a digital thought leader for the nonprofit or higher education vertical  
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate knowledge of Marketing Cloud 
  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to junior consultants  
  • Participate in activities, in alignment with Sales and in partnership with Director, such as reviewing scopes, designing solutions, and preparing pitch decks  
  • Create technical documentation  
  • Proactively identify areas of need for internal projects and work collaboratively with teammates to deliver internal project milestones  
  • Assess client business requirements to design architecturally-sound solutions  
  • Build, test, and deploy declarative and/or technical solutions to meet client requirements when necessary 
  • Serve as senior Digital Services team member on multi-cloud projects providing overall technical guidance for Marketing Cloud to core team members and to junior Digital Services team members 
  • Optimize non-billable time to contribute to Cloud for Good Sales, Marketing, or Services delivery accelerators and other product offerings 
  • Identify new areas for growth and assist Cloud for Good in expanding into these areas (i.e., Interaction Studio, Datorama, CDP, etc.) 
  • Implement solutions across multiple Clouds and conduct proactive QA on team’s solutions  
  • Act as a role model for Cloud for Good’s culture and values  
  • Serve as an expert in Cloud for Good methodology and business process  
  • Provide feedback to Cloud for Good leadership on how the company can improve  
  • Perpetually contribute to the betterment of Cloud for Good  

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Marketing Cloud Consultant certification (Marketing Cloud Developer certification preferred) 
  • Expert-level Marketing Cloud configuration knowledge  
  • Expert-level skills/knowledge in multiple functional, declarative, or technical areas, and is also comfortable across other areas of Salesforce  
  • Understanding of Marketing Cloud APIs and other custom development capabilities 
  • Understanding of AMPScript and ability to develop within emails and CloudPages 
  • Expert in SQL and relational database design 
  • Expert in integrating external systems with Marketing Cloud  
  • Experience working with nonprofits or higher education institutions  
  • 4+ years of experience in client services and/or consulting services  
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing Cloud implementations or services engagements in a consultative model  
  • Experience in agile delivery methodology  
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Marketing Cloud best practices  
  • Proven experience leading clients through complex Marketing Cloud solution discoveries 
  • Ability to conduct client discoveries to identify high level goals, while also keeping focus on project scope 
  • Ability to design complex workflows / models based on prospect/client requirements in either a pre-sales capacity or within a project discovery 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide solution design / senior guidance for multiple clients at once  
  • Committed to customer satisfaction  
  • Strong consulting skills, including project and time management, communication, and teamwork/collaboration   
  • Demonstrated success in designing and configuring complex solutions  
  • Proven track record of continuously improving organizations  
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience required
