I recently was able to spend an amazing evening enjoying one of my new fave artists, Habib Koité and his band Bamada , based in Mali. I am not sure whether this was planned by the artist or an general artifact of the ubiquity of multimedia mobile devices, but I have never seen a show where people were so openly capturing images and video.
