When people talk about museum projects in Second Life and other virtual worlds, I'm often disappointed by the short-sightedness of the vision. Virtual worlds are a new, emerging technology, and like any new technology, overlaying old techniques onto new platforms is disappointing at best.

15th including a session on using Machinima to create political and social change videos. The library community has a large presence on Second Life at Information Island which is where the TechSoup SL Virtual Office is located. Do they use it as their primary form of asynchronous communication for talking with their friends?
