The average smartphone outperforms the laptop computer of the previous decade. It's true: the employees of tomorrow may not have laptops or PCs. The new realm of net-enabled personal communications devices will cut down on the need for many employees to have an expensive-to-maintain PC or laptop.

You could also watch a video cast on the web as well as in Second Life. So, I attended via Second Life where Rebecca Nesson was the in-world moderator and she was also at the real life event. The session opened with a question on whether students should be allowed to use laptops in the class to take notes or not.

That's my avatar, I'm live blogging from Second Life. From my office in the Boston, I teleported myself into the Virtual World of Second Life and headed straight for the New Media Consortium virtual campus where I joined about 65 other avatars representing educators from all over the world (even Austrailia where it was 3:00 a.m.
