Second Life kiva.org volunteer: Julles Boucher Kiva.org , a micro-finance organization, has funded nearly 17,0000 loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries and last week crossed the $11 million rank. I discovered this when I clicked on Skeeboo Tammas's profile while chatting with him in Second Life.

Second Life isnt just about wasting time, however, nor are its "residents" exclusively teens hunkered down in their parents basements with Hot Pockets and Red Bulls - there may be real marketing potential for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. million total (500,000 active monthly) residents of Second Life.
