Innovative Geocoding Project Maps Aid Data

12,000 specific geographic locations were coded in 42 Sub-Sahara African countries, 27 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as Indonesia, and the Philippines (a selection of Africa-wide projects were also coded). It is also hoped that more donors will provide information and support the project in the future.

Reflections on a Weekend with Ze Frank and His Online Community

About 700 people participated over two days, including some who had traveled to Santa Cruz from London, Indonesia, and across the US. In some ways, this event reminded me of the Ontario Science Centre's YouTube Meetup in 2008 --a real-time, physical event to support an online community. It was pretty freaking amazing.
