At the heart of Fair Trade is the notion of direct trade, kind of like a farmer's market gone global. And I found that very exciting, and so I went back after I finished college thinking I would stay in Nicaragua and work with farmers for a year and get my field experience and then figure out what I wanted to do with my life.
