Marc Andreessen, who is, of late, connected to Ning, has a great blog entry with details. Google has a number of partners, including social network sites like LinkedIn, Friendster and Ning, as well as Salesforce, which does have very interesting implications given the increasing use of Salesforce in the nonprofit sector.

Today, at 14:00 hours (local time), thousands of people with diabetes will test their blood sugar, do 14 minutes of exercise, test again and share their results on TuDiabetes or on Twitter.

There is a lot of buzz about "free agent fundraisers" an individual using personal fundraising to raise money for a nonprofit organization. The free agent fundraiser is described in detail in Allison Fine and Beth Kanter's book The Networked Nonprofit. The Reddit fundraising challenge that raised almost $60,000.
