Last week for WeAreMedia project, I put a call on Twitter for case studies, best practices, and links about nonprofits using social networking sites, including Ning. Nonprofits, support groups, and nonprofit professionals have found their homes on Ning. But many nonprofits are using Ning for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and learning.

Flickr and Digital Photography: 5 Hours Weekly. Actually uploading photos to Flickr doesn’t require much time, but shooting digital photos, editing them, and then properly adding them to Flickr sets and collections with tags and titles can become time-consuming. There’s no shortage of niche networks out there to experiment with.

Photo in Flickr. I finally got a chance to meet Manny Hernandez, author written the " Ning for Dummies Book." He is founder of The Diabetes Hands Foundation, a non profit that operates two niche social networks for people touched by diabetes: TuDiabetes (in English, with close to 8,200 members) and EsTuDiabetes.

Mixed Reality events – conference going on in Second Life with a live streamed video into Second Life, it expands the audience exponentially. Nptech resources can be found on delicious , flickr , slideshare , and Twitter. Discussion boards can be added to your website, leveraged in a Ning site, or you can use a google group or similar solution. Consider Ning, Basecamp, and Zoho. That can make it difficult to navigate. What are some other considerations/barriers?
