I have created the design and delivered an intensive Train the Trainers session in Beirut almost a year ago for master trainers and their teams from Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia. I also developed the curriculum for the 15 workshops that were localized and delivered by the in-country trainers to over 220 NGOs over 9-month period.

The final phase is to design and facilitate in-country bootcamps with participants. (I’ll I started work on the E-Mediat project over a year ago. It is sponsored by MEPI, US Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative and as part of Civil Society 2.0. I’ll be Jordan and Morocco in March, 2011).

Earlier this month, I had an opportunity to facilitate a full-day innovation lab for an amazing group of network thinkers using human design methods to inform the design of a leadership network. It has been exactly a year since I have committed to practicing the methods from Luma Institute as part of improving my facilitation practice.

Shabakat Al Ordon trains young people in technical, professional and facilitation skills who then go out and create programs to train people in their communities. The Morocco Team discussed how Youth Without Borders is a networked network and the Yemen Team pointed out how the Youth Leadership Development Foundation is one as well.

The learning objectives: To provide participants with a formula for training digital campaign strategy. The Yemen Team has some additional reflections on their workshop blog. It has facilitated the opening up of access to good quality raw data from statistical agencies in North Africa and the Middle East, which is being shared with individuals, institutions and the public at large. Libya, Djibouti and Jordan have also granted restricted access to micro data to selected individuals and organizations.
