For those of you who haven’t yet heard, your Twitter profile page just got a facelift, and many think that Twitter seems to have “borrowed” (to put it nicely) elements from other rival social networks to revamp its look. Users can filter based on whether they want to see tweets, tweets and replies, and tweets with photo and video. For example, the cover photo for your campaign that you use in Facebook can also be used in Twitter (and vice versa).

Here we have an example of your garden-variety friend request popup: And here we have a variation of that same popup: Facebook knows spam culture. It seems that through a spam-filterer algorithm, Facebook is able to identify users who are more likely to receive friend requests from people who actually don’t know the user. Facebook has announced that all Pages will be upgraded to the new Timeline layout on March 30th. And everything you know about using and administrating your Facebook Page will change. These include: Cover Photo – Pages include the ability to upload a Cover photo that is similar to what many profiles have (the dimensions for the image should be 850px by 315px). New Profile Pic Dimensions – Your Page avatar (profile pic) will now be 180 pixels square.

The other day, I realized that I've been on Facebook for exactly nine years-- the timeline feature tells me I joined on March 6, 2004, back when it was still thefacebook.com. My undergrad institution was the third university to get access to the site, which was much-hyped even then, and I remember waiting with bated breath for midnight to arrive so I could set up my profile (yep, I was pretty cool in college). Facebook's ubiquity isn't going away anytime soon.

The concern is that by using their personal Facebook account as the Page admin, somehow their privacy will be breached. By commenting and posting on the wall, Page connections will somehow have access to personal photos, friends, relationship status and other details. But the “privacy barrier&# is solid between you as a Page and you as a profile.
