20:20 Social Media Analytics Blog; A colleague just shared a link to this blog by Guarav Mishra's company. I've been following him on Twitter and have been following his social media/social change blog but hadn't made it to his company's blog.
It's where I grabbed the above slide show that offers a conceptual framework for strategy and metrics. It's making me think of Gary Haye's Transmedia Storytelling and Co-Creation framework.
The framework begins with the four c-s:
- Content: refers to the idea that social media tools allow everyone to become a creator, by making the publishing and distribution of multimedia content both free and easy, even for amateurs.
- Collaboration: refers to the idea that social media facilitates the aggregation of small individual actions into meaningful collective results.
- Community: refers to the idea that social media facilitates sustained collaboration around a shared idea, over time and often across space.
- Collective Intelligence: refers to the idea that the social web enables us to not only aggregate individual actions, but also run sophisticated algorithms on them and extract meaning from them.
He lays out what to measure for each of these areas. Here's the slide. He has analysis and some thoughts on how to use social network analysis to evaluate your social media program - I haven't seen any other writing on this. Must go back for a deeper dive, but flagging it for now.
There's another post on this blog pointing to a slide show by Beth Harte on social media measurement. He points out the substantial influence that KD Paine (the goddess of social media measurement) has had on the field.
This slide show about data visualization is also worth a quick read. It's from the presentations at Social Tech earlier this month. Well, back to packing up the house for the big move.
Beth, I am so glad you included Beth Harte's presentation. I attended that luncheon in Fort Worth. She provided great examples and research (Plus, I was honored to be included in the presentation line-up with her for our group: http://fortworthprsa.blogspot.com/2009/05/forefront-successfully-navigating.html)
I hope your move goes well.
