Five Must-Have Skills for Nonprofit Social Media Managers

Nonprofit Tech for Good

Your nonprofit’s social media campaigns are only as good as the social media manager running them. Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare are not miracle-producers. They are simply tools that can result in high ROI for your nonprofit, but only if the person sharing Status Updates, Twittering, and Checking-in on behalf of your nonprofit has the right skills, experience and training to make social media produce results.

Drupal/Salesforce Integration

Zen and the Art of Nonprofit Technology

A bit over a year ago, I wrote a post about the status of Drupal/Salesforce Integration. I figured it was time to do an update. At the moment, if you want to integrate Drupal and Salesforce, you have three options: Use the contributed modules (or have a developer install and configure them for you). Use Jackson River’s Springboard. Roll your own (or have a developer roll your own for you.).

Across the nonprofit sector, organizations invest heavily in donor retention efforts, yet the struggle of cultivating lasting relationships remains. While attracting new donors is crucial, the lack of repeat donors poses significant financial risks. Through a comprehensive analysis of industry data, experts argue that there is a direct correlation between donor burnout, donor retention, and the talent retention crisis.

22 Nonprofit Mobile Websites

Nonprofit Tech for Good

The rise of QR Codes has helped many nonprofits understand the need for mobile websites, or at the very least mobile-optimized web pages. A QR code that launches a desktop-designed web page in a mobile browser just doesn’t make a whole of sense. Neither does linking to desktop sites inside smartphone apps, in group text alerts, or on location-based communities like Foursquare, Gowalla and Facebook Places.

A Better Way to Produce Nonprofit Annual Reports

Beth's Blog: How Nonprofits Can Use Social Media

Note from Beth: I facilitated a panel about Mobile Integrated strategy at the Innogive Conference earlier this month and have shared the notes here. NTC Reflection: How To Make Your Conference Panel A Magical Learning Experience

Beth's Blog: How Nonprofits Can Use Social Media

As many trainers and teachers already know, people have different learning styles. Howard Gardner has dedicated his life work to this Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Yet, many conference panels are designed to accommodate only one or two styles of learning and go shallow instead of going deep. Would participants learn more and have greater impact if panel designers incorporated different techniques such as visual learning and if they designed for more audience engagement?
