Lame spams of the day: Fake Amazon and PayPal receipts

Robert Weiner

I got a big batch of these today. They're similar to the fake Amazon HDTV receipts I wrote about in September. These aren't as lame-looking as most of the spam I write about: they use the right logos, fonts, and typefaces. This site says they lead to malware. The giveaways are: 1) Hover over the links and see where they point before clicking (that's the best way to prevent phishing attacks and malware infections from spam). 2) The Amazon receipts have no details about what I purchased. 3) I got

Speaker: Andrew Olsen, CFRE - EVP, Fundraising Solutions at DickersonBakker | Kat Landa, CFRE, CSD - SVP, Talent Solutions at DickersonBakker

Across the nonprofit sector, organizations invest heavily in donor retention efforts, yet the struggle of cultivating lasting relationships remains. Save the Waves Campaign: Surfrider Australia

Nonprofit Tech for Good

Many of Australia’s best waves are endangered. Yet unlike endangered wildlife there are no surfbreak protection laws in Australia. Nor are the impacts on surfbreaks considered in planning and infrastructure developments. Surfing is not just a sport. Surfing is about experiencing natural places and forces at their best and their worst. Why do surfers drive 14 hours to a waterless desert surfing campsite to risk body and board for only a few seconds on the face of a wave?

GiveMN 2012 Giving Day by the Numbers

Beth's Blog: How Nonprofits Can Use Social Media

Note From Beth: I’m a huge fan of Giving Days because they raise the awareness, engagement, and donations to nonprofits and being generous. Last week, we watched as a national day of giving and awareness campaign for “Giving Tuesday” unfold and spur spikes in donations. As I wrote back in September when first covering Giving Tuesday, Giving Days are not a new idea and have been successful in local communities and entire states, like GiveMN which raised many millions of

Lame spams of the day: more fake ADP notices

Robert Weiner

I got a new batch of lame ADP spams this morning (see the old batch here ). These are really lame -- no graphics, plain text, mangled English. But they want me to take a customer satisfaction survey -- I can't wait. This site says they're malware delivery devices, so don't click. The senders were: ADP Transaction Status [ADPTransactionSurvey@adp.com].
