We moved last weekend to a town that has actual real cable high speed internet. Unfortunately, it is the apparently increasingly dastardly Comcast, but it is so way much better than satellite by Hughesnet , that I can’t really find it in myself to complain.

When we submitted our proposal to the competition to provide accessible books to U.S. students with print disabilities, I told my team that if we won an award, I'd cook smoked lobster for the whole company. Today's that day! We're just three weeks into this new world for Benetech. I think we've signed up more schools and students for Bookshare.org in the last three weeks than in the last three years!

One really simple way to use less fuel and improve air quality is to avoid using your vehicle's engine - except when driving. Seems simple enough, but our friends at New York's Asthma Free School Zones have been finding it quite a challenge to get this message across. Focusing on the idling of school buses in front of elementary schools, the organization has been able to demonstrate that the air quality at the schools is measurably worse than just a few blocks away.

I've gotten too many messages from colleagues that have the subject line "Do We Read The Same Books" and it encourages you to sign up for a social software called Shelfari. The "bacn" from this program was sent to a listserv, and it annoyed people on the list. The problem is that the Shelfari uses the "find a friend" feature to spam your friends without permission.
