23andMe files for bankruptcy, CEO steps down

Biotechnology company 23andMe has filed for bankruptcy, with co-founder and CEO Anne Wojcicki stepping down, effective immediately. On Sunday, 23andMe filed a voluntary petition for bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. According to a press release , it "intends to continue operating its business in the ordinary course throughout the sale process," with "no changes to the way the company stores, manages, or protects customer data.

On Sunday, the genetic testing and heritage company 23andMe announced that it had entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was asking a court to arrange its sale. The company has been losing money for years, and a conflict between its board and CEO about future directions led to the entire board resigning back in September. Said CEO, Anne Wojcicki, has now resigned and will be pursuing an attempt to purchase the company and take it private.

Netflix has announced that it's adding support for HDR10+ streaming , on top of the existing HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats that are already offered on the streaming service. HDR10+ should offer greater visual fidelity on a per-frame basis for Netflix's frequently dark original programming.
