However, Salesforce in particular has a leg up that most other proprietary tools don’t have, because of their open APIs and their incredibly robust development platform. CiviCRM was the first nonprofit-focused open source CRM (one of only two, at this moment.) I’ve implemented CiviCRM together with Drupal, and I’m really psyched to keep working with this great combo. CiviCRM acts in Drupal like a module, and in Joomla like a component.
