In an effort to understand why the violence there is still happening, and what I can do to help, I've called in for two of the monthly conference calls for Sudan Activists produced by ENOUGH , the Genocide Intervention Network , STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition , and the Save Darfur Coalition.

If anything, I have been encouraged to develop a solid social media strategy with help from our Director of Marketing, as well as continued support from my fellow marketing staff here. I am very lucky to work at an organization that values social media, and have never received push-back regarding investing my time and efforts there.

Having spent several months in Southern Sudan, I know the struggles that people have to find clean drinking water. When asked about his organization’s involvement with Instagram, Paull Young, Digital Director at charity:water, actually told us that his ad was donated, as a part of a test case with Instagram. Incredible.

Now 26, Erickson is still FORGE's Executive Director. One of those individuals is Paul Ohisa, and he's a refugee from Sudan. His dream was to go back to Sudan, and to contribute and help rebuild. His idea is that he wants to recreate, in reverse, the walk that he made from Sudan all the way through Congo and into Zambia.

It was a little over 10 minutes long and talked about medical needs in Sudan, the ongoing challenges in Colombia and how people with HIV/AIDS in the developing world are being denied access to new "second-line" AIDS medicine. (My I just listened to the first podcast.

For example, I'm planning on going to India and Bangladesh next month for the first time, and to Uganda and Sudan next year.
