The genocide in Darfur continues - now in its sixth year and at the price of nearly half a million lives. Most importantly, you can influence others to stand up and be a voice for Darfur.

Yup, you can target and build these important relationships by engaging with them through LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. An organization dedicated to “never again” a genocide — such as those in Europe, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur — must raise awareness and advocate with as much energy as it raises money.

Just yesterday I read a tweet that called the #nonprofit twitter tag a “cavernous echo chamber.” Here’s what’s pissing me off: The reason I have to fight every time to do these stories [like Darfur] is because the truth is that it’s hard to get the majority of Americans…to care. ” (not in video). That is a huge mistake.”

How do we activate the online activists to take action offline?" I was not presenting, but decided to use Twitter crowd source some suggestions, screencapture them, and put those into my presentation later in the day. Ironically, one of my Twitter followers suggested asking them nicely and giving them schwag. I suggest a tweetup.
