On Friday, I was on a "Darfur Activist" conference call produced by ENOUGH , the Genocide Intervention Network , STAND and the Save Darfur Coalition. Many nonprofits already use social media, including mobile, to raise money among individual donors. An organization dedicated to “never again” a genocide — such as those in Europe, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur — must raise awareness and advocate with as much energy as it raises money.

Here are a few examples of some month-long and two-week long online events: Maw Books Blog ran a Blogging and Reading for Darfur campaign last month. For the month of September, Natasha Maw read and blogged in an effort to create awareness, and raise funds for Darfur. She read 31 books and raised $1,1136.60.

See the Darfur scores for example. Transparent scorecard reporting: After aggregating a "grade" for each policy maker, publish it on the Internet, with all relevant substantiating information. Also use political fundraising reporting tools to learn who donated to particular politicians.
