The documentation projects of our partners in Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe have yielded so far six high-quality publications or reports about violations against LGBTI individuals in their communities.

A high school English teacher in Zimbabwe, whose name is Betty Makoni , began hearing stories from her students after school, that they had been raped. The children are ages 6-16, and they're making huge strides by leading a national movement against child rape in Zimbabwe. The little girls are part of a culture, the Shona culture in Zimbabwe, as maybe you know, uses poetry. There are no men in Zimbabwe who are immune to these girls' attention.

Racism has been in every culture ever since. Humans can no more escape the racism in our cultures than we can escape the carcinogens in the air we breathe. We see the tragic consequences when fear and hatred win out over the Golden Rule in places like the Middle East, Iran, North Korea, Darfur, Zimbabwe, and Myanmar.
