I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and both sets of my grandparents came from rural Mississippi. For me there should always be an eye on creating community based food systems because I think that's going to be the way that we are going to feed more people in urban centers, and do it cheaply and efficiently.

We also run after school programs, where we have curriculum that is based on teaching youth –mostly elementary and middle school aged kids – about community service and civics and cultural awareness. Well, as I am answering these questions, I’m getting bounced around by some nasty turbulence somewhere over Tennessee!
