First, I’m not really comfortable with the way we inform donors of the tax-deductibility of their gifts. Are we missing out by not sharing information about these opportunities? Not a Tax Lawyer.

Towards this end, why not be prepared to inform donors of giving opportunities of which they may not be aware? For example, last year I was delighted to receive an email from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco including information informing supporters about new tax deduction benefits made possible through the CARES Act.
