Happy Women’s History Month! This year, the United Nations declared the International Women’s Day theme to be “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.” The UN chose the theme to highlight what women have accomplished in the technology sphere and the steps needed to achieve gender equality in digital spaces.
While women have made great strides in the U.S. workforce, they are still vastly underrepresented in STEM jobs. The 2020 United States Census reports that women have increased STEM employees from 8% in 1970 to 27% in 2019.
With the March 8th holiday focusing on technology and gender equality, the UN is highlighting some of the women leading the advancement of technology in their fields. Ten innovative female leaders in association technology
The following women have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of technology in associations:
1. Natasha Rocheleau
Associate Director of Operations at the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)
Natasha Rocheleau recently demonstrated her leadership at SAME by successfully implementing Nimble AMS at her association. Rocheleau invested time in learning Nimble AMS and working with her team, so they had the tools and knowledge needed to properly innovate.
2. Caroline Laurin
Vice President of Marketing & Communications at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (ASSLD)
Caroline Laurin routinely develops key marketing campaigns and strategies to elevate AASLD’s mission and vision. Laurin is a leader in event promotion and member engagement strategy at her organization.
3. Becky Anderson
LMS Administrator at the Illinois ASBO
Becky Anderson recently innovated at Illinois ASBO by leveraging Nimble AMS to modernize the event registration and membership renewal processes. Anderson is all about empowering staff and members with user-friendly processes.

Tami Brehm has been a leader at ACR for 5 years. Brehm is always searching for ways to leverage technology to improve the member experience at her association.
