I tested PocketMirror, CompanionLink, Go Contacts Sync, gSyncIt, Google Calendar Sync, and Evernote. Here's what I've ended up with: Contacts: gSyncIt, via Google (my contacts sync to Gmail, then to the Pre). Calendar: Google Calendar Sync. The apps I've installed include: Google Calendar Search. Work email/calendar/tasks is on an Exchange server, personal email is on Gmail. I switched to iCloud for personal calendar/tasks when I got the iPhone 4S last fall to make it easier to stay in sync with my family. I’m going to find out. I backup data to iCloud.

You can see your searches for any day in the past by clicking on the little calendar icon at the top right of the screen, then choosing a date. If you get a blank page of results, the calendar is up at the top right of every page so you can look at another date. You can also download your history and have it sent to your Gmail account.

3 Gmail accounts, no problem. Calendars & contacts were synced in what felt like seconds. No clunky calendar sync application. Overall Strengths: As expected, everything Google is easy to configure and beautifully handled. Switching between them is a pleasure compared to on the iPhone.

Since I use Gmail, there’s a cool Chrome browser plug-in called Inbox When Ready that allows me to protect my focus and minimize the amount of time I spend on email by hiding my inbox when I’m not using it. One simple way to manage this, in addition to having clear priorities, is to turn off the push notifications on your devices.
