One of the main drawbacks about Direct Mail is that the people who donate money, on average, are older and older.

Is Direct Mail Really Headed for the Exit? - Online Fundraising, Advocacy, and Social Media - frogloop

Frogloop wrote about the seeming decline of direct mail in February due to rising costs and the fact that direct mail appeals largely to an aging demographic. The same has happened with radio, broadcast TV, and now even cable. The younger generation seems to prefer to donate online, rather than through the mail.
