The most powerful impact we found was actually in the women's leadership and influence locally. Just here in the Bay Area we have local things like, Oakland Local , Oakland Seen , and The first place that you start is you really want to tap into the local wisdom and the local experience that's there in the community, on the ground, that the big media outlets are probably missing. They're coming from Nepal, the Philippines, and Bolivia.

So many of these women are local leaders, and Women's Global Green Action Network is attempting to provide a space for women to step into roles of being global advocates, and to really have a more prevalent platform for the messages and the work that they are doing. It could be training in information and communication technology, or it could be a training on a local water filter that would be helpful for people to bring to their communities.
