After she co-founded the Foundation For Friends of Nature in Bolivia, a million acres of natural habitat were put in to public trust. Places like TechSoup and the National Cristina Foundation put out the word that donated computers were badly needed in Louisiana, and they came by the truckload. They needed a capable person in charge.

I think my favorite example of that is a women's group from the highlands of Bolivia who wrote to us maybe seven or eight years ago. They were a group of illiterate women who dictated their requests to a priest in the village, who then hand wrote the request.
