It’s been challenging for the nonprofit sector to create iPhone and Android Apps that people want to first download and then repeatedly use – at least in large numbers. In general, your supporters have minimal interest in downloading a budget-friendly app that only includes a news or blog feed, a link to your YouTube Channel, and “Donate” option. For an app to be successful, it needs to be useful and well-designed and that’s a financial and creative challenge for most nonprofits. The Free2Work app from Not For Sale is an insightful consumer application that gives a “letter grade” to various brands rating their attention to Human Trafficking. The app grades on a brand’s policies, transparency, monitoring, and worker’s rights.

Very nicely designed iPhone application. Design of all application looks very professional and attractive which will help to engage its users always on the application.
My company’s building out a mobile app for NPOs to help them fundraise in the field; we’re a startup that helps non-profits fundraise through their social media and any feedback we can get would be great. Anybody care to give some suggestions? The app will probably launch in about 2 months, so there’s a very good chance your suggestions make their way into the final product.
These are terrific ones; several of which I didn’t know about. A favorite of mine is the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch. It’s been cited for a long time as a good example of a nonprofit app, but I think it’s continued to get even better. The interface is clear and easy to navigate and like that it will tell you a good source for recommended sustainable fish in your area.
These are all great apps, I knew some already and I’ll check the others these days. One app I suggest you take a look at is: http://itunes.apple.com/ro/app/voucherry/id556884627?mt=8 It helps supporters to contribute to causes without spending anything and causes to increase their funds.
