Bless the volunteers and interns, but unless they have experience or training in writing web conent, publishing e-newsletters, and launching and maintaining online fundraising campaigns, then they are not going to understand the bigger picture of the strategy behind utilizing social media. You need a good avatar.

The access to information drives knowledge. In Iran the regime hasn’t yet shown itself to be as savvy as the green movement. I think underlying slacktivism isn’t enough – you can’t just turn your profile green. So, this organization of knowledge could actually be a good thing for demoralizing government.
