A lone Senator needs support to sustain a filibuster – and the Brady Campaign wanted to turn the huge outpouring of public support into real political action. They launched a Mobile Commons Advocacy campaign that drove 130,000 phone calls in a day , urging the Senate to support Senator Murphy’s filibuster. Results The campaign drove over 130,000 phone calls to the Senate – so many calls that they clogged the phone lines and filled Senators’ voicemail boxes.
