The social impact landscape in Romania is complex and exciting – you can see struggle and hope, fear and enthusiasm mixed in every conversation and every presentation. I am here in Romania for a conference hosted by the Soros Foundation as part of their pilot advocacy through blogging program. I leave Romania early in the morning and I'm probably too tired to be writing something called a reflection, but I better do it now or risk loosing it. Documentation in Action I usually take notes online.

The ReStart Romania. The Community Boost_r site recently got a makeover — visit it and read up on how technology is used for good in Eastern Europe. The ReStart Challenges brings developers, activists, public, and private sector folks together to kick-start social change in the Balkans. Initiative.

Through Laureus’ Sport for Peace and Humanitarian Action Fund, we’ve partnered with organizations supporting young Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Romania, and elsewhere in Europe. Among its successes: 72,878 children and young people became less socially isolated. 257,374 had access to a safe and inclusive space.

As of this writing, there are 13 responses (ok, two are from me) from people who work (in some cases lead) the Morino Institute, Random Hacks of Kindness, TechSoup Romania, CROS, Meedan, the Gates Foundation, Beth Kanter, Campus Party USA, Vulcan Labs, and Fundacja TechSoup/Warsaw Social Hackathon. That’s not to say we don’t use objectives.
