The documents show that as recently as 2008 ERI was quietly selling large volumes of e-waste to a Los Angeles exporter who shipped it to Hong Kong. It was big news in the recycling industry then when the Sacramento Bee published multiple documents including shipping receipts (also called bills of lading ) proving e-waste dumping by ERI.
