These services ask you to announce your location at public places in exchange for clever virtual badges as well as the occasional real-world rewards. The problem is that there are few places on earth like SxSW.

As many of you know, the Sharing Foundation won the Yahoo/Network for Good Charity Badge contest at the end of 2006. I just wanted to close to the loop and show the first batch of uniforms delivered for 2007! The blog campaign raised $49,000 which was matched by Yahoo.

Each time someone adds a seafood item, they can earn virtual badges (first sushi report, first listing of a particular seafood item). An app is not another form of email or social media channel.
