Then I show them Wikipedia, and I used to demonstrate Wikalong, but the page history of that service is broken and thus so is the wiki as far as I'm concerned. When I do a wiki training session I demonstrate the simplest "edit page", save and view previous versions first. That generally gives people a good idea what's going on.
