He replied with a blog post and screencast about doing screencasts with Linux and a screencapture tool called xvidcap and kino , a basic video editing package that comes with Ubuntu. Thanks James!

My New T-Shirt Originally uploaded by cambodia4kidsorg. Yep, an open source t-shirt. One of the other meeting attenders was wearing one and I asked him where he got. Turns out a friend made it, but he offered me a copy.

The only person I recall doing video work on Open Source is James Davis who did this screencast with Ubuntu and wrote a post about it. Philosophically I support open source and free software, but I wonder if there is a userbase. I saw a post about nonprofits and video use here , but not much mention of open source tools.

Tobias Schonwetter, discusses the analogy between copyright law and culture in many regions of the world and an interview with Anna Badimo, chairperson of LinuxChix Africa. A post that uses the metaphor of UNIX permissions to explain open content.
