Tunisia is very interesting this week! The WSIS conference is going on, human rights activists are getting beaten up, and we're talking about how information technology can help build a better world. Walking into the medina, the old part of Tunis, I suddenly acquired very friendly people from Tunisia speaking good English (which is unusual, since English is about language number six in usefulness in Tunisia, after Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish and German). That's very unusual; every other mosque I saw in Tunisia was off-limits.
