We told the NHRC staff and the MacArthur Foundation, a long-time supporter of the Benetech Human Rights Program, that we would be happy to return for more training when the NHRC was ready. The MacArthur Foundation provided key support for the project by not only financing our work, but also funding computer literacy training for NHRC staff.

Patrick found that very few of the activists he trained ended up using PGP, because it was too hard to use.

Our Martus team trained two new partners focused on rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people : Jamaica Forum for Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays , or J-FLAG and AIDS-Free World. In another section they add: “[Benetech’s work in] human rights data collection and analysis … should grow at least tenfold.”
