Test the computers and software in the classroom before every training. If you're training a lot of people, try to train in a classroom setting so everyone hears the same thing. But recognize that not everyone will be available for classroom trainings, and some people will need 1 on 1 training to understand the concepts.

Next, you need to get a demo copy of the database and do your own testing. to constituents based on factors like past donations, interests, event attendance, recency of gifts, lifetime giving total, etc. Then you need to check references.

Another scam uses nonprofits’ websites to test stolen credit cards. Shortly afterward, an email arrives saying the amount was a mistake (e.g., 7,000 instead of $700) and asking for a refund of the difference to a different credit card. These attempts don’t cost nonprofits much in lost revenue, but can be a headache to clean up.

IT staff can test the security of passwords on their own networks. They can't control the password requirements for web-based email accounts or cloud computing apps. IT staff can require employees to change their network passwords regularly. They can't do that for cloud apps. Do they do that with their employees' Google Doc passwords?

I've barely scratched the surface of testing my software and expect many more unpleasant surprises. anti-virus. I've also had trouble getting Adobe Flash to install. Currently I can view Flash videos in FireFox but not in Internet Explorer. 3) No sound.

That took some research, and was easier once WP was installed in a test environment. I decided to install WP rather than use their hosting because it seemed like that gave me more control over the design and plug-ins. 2) I chose a theme. Once WP was running on my web host I could upload a new theme and instantly see what it would look like.

The tests I've run say it's not as secure, but it's something. I don't want to have to pay a monthly fee for something like eFax for those rare instances when I need to fax from the computer. Maybe there are other alternatives. I wasn't able to get ZoneAlarm to install. I finally gave up and switched to PC Tools' firewall.

I tested PocketMirror, CompanionLink, Go Contacts Sync, gSyncIt, Google Calendar Sync, and Evernote. My major problem with the Pre is due to its lack of a built-in sync with a standalone/desktop copy of Outlook. If you don't use Outlook, or use it on an Exchange server, you might not have these problems.

I haven't done enough testing to compare the web browser response over Verizon's 3G network vs. wi-fi. I contacted Chapura tech support and got a quick response saying that subsequent syncs would have been almost instant, but since I don't want to rely solely on wi-fi I decided it wasn't worth further testing.
