Further, I find myself often in the situation of convening teams that include folks thrust in the position of managing software or web projects for the first time. Although you can't “clone� a project or have a project template, you can create todo list templates and these can really help frame standard approaches in your project streams.

I’m the guy responsible for its current position in the nptech tag stream mainly because I got tired of seeing Techsoup in the stream an umpteen number of times…) Paul makes a valid point that social networking is not for the typical nonprofit audience, i.e. don’t know how scalable this software is but it IS free.

Rank doesn't spare you; openly admitting that you can do anything well with computers is equivalent to lifetime membership in the tech support club. full time tech support job is, for the most part, an extended roller coaster ride with more down slopes than up. Every update is automatically emailed to the user and the tech.

NetCommunity is moving nicely along and I believe that Kintera’s weakness and Convio’s small revenue stream plus Blackbaud’s continuing mindshare especially with those nonprofits that have yet to do eCRM means that that product will have to be given CRM consideration. 4) Yahoo! out of 5) Loading. How could you not? Yikes.

said in that post: At one level, whether or not the software underneath the SaaS is open source is not relevant. You are not obtaining the software, and whether or not you can see the code, or modify it, is really not the key issue here. And, at the level of most nonprofits choosing software, this is, in fact, correct.

Here's a few: She's Geeky , an unconference for women in technology, held a blog day on September 19th which generated many posts including a few from the nonprofit tech space ( here , here , and here ) Blog Action Day is October 15th.
