Lame spam of the day: disappointed spammer

Here''s one of the former, from a spammer I presume is trying to increase the search engine ranking for a site selling shoes. I searched for the first sentence and found over 2 million examples, so it may be working. Most of the spam that reaches me comes as emails, but my blog also attracts a fair share of spammy comments.

Should You Delete Donor Records?

If inactive donors clutter your search results, code them so they don’t appear in searches. I’ve heard enough tales of bequests from one-time or small donors to believe that they’re real. For my clients with on-premise systems, I see no justification for deleting donors; disk space is cheap. But don’t delete them.

I assume that most of these are planted for search engine optimization rather than to get people to click a link. When in doubt, do a web search. There's been a deluge recently, and I want to call out some that look like they could be legit. Fortunately, my anti-spam filters (Akismet and Bad Behavior) caught them.

Lame spam of the day: Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center

If you run a web search on the name of this organization you'll see lots of posts with words like "ripoff" and "scam". In fine print, at the end of a paragraph of fine print, it says "This is not a bill. This is a solicitation. You are under no obligation to pay the amount stated, unless you accept this offer.".
