The article makes this sound like a new idea, but The Hunger Site (and their later projects for breast cancer, children’s health, literacy, rain forest protection, and animal rescue) has been doing this since 1999.

You can imagine my surprise, however, when the TSA official at LAX would not allow me to pass through security with my old license and the temporary extension. Is this at all rational? understand (now) that the hole in my license meant I couldn't drive with it. But isn't the photo still me?
