Lame spam of the day: Digg + Facebook

Robert Weiner

I've seen two versions of this spam claiming to be verification of Facebook social sharing on Digg. Version 1: Sender: Facebook Verification (registration@datonet.at). Version 2: Sender: Digg Verification (registration@e.digg.com). One said it's a Facebook verification, the other a Digg verification. Cheers, the Digg crew.

Lame spam of the day: US Airways reservation

Robert Weiner

I got 8 of these at 2 different email addresses, always a sign of spam. Subject: Please confirm your US Airways online registration. The pitch is similar to the American Airlines ticket scam but not as well done. This site says the links lead to malware. Then, all you have to do is print your boarding pass and proceed to the gate.

Lame spams of the day: ADP Notifications

Robert Weiner

Since I don't use ADP it's obvious that they're spam, but others may fall for them. This is where you manage your users’ access to ADP’s Internet services, and includes the self-service registration process. I've been seeing a variety of these recently. Sender: ADPClientServices@adp.com.

Lame spam of the day: Instant Acrobat Upgrade

Robert Weiner

I also looked at the domain registration for instant-acrobat-upgrade.com and it's registered to someone in Oslo (actually, Oslo,Oslo,AF 0951) with a Yahoo email address. It lists an Adobe office in Canada, whereas the company is based in California. I got two copies. Not a deal-breaker by itself, but another red flag.
