That's my avatar with a fez I pocked up in Virtual Morocco in Second Life, a student project! Now via New Media Consortium: Teachers Buzz Session (a weekly gathering of educators in Second Life to visit and discuss SL education projects) comes the opportunity to answer thoese questions via a virtual field trip to Morocco.

The project is training 300 NGOs in Jordan , Lebanon , Tunisia , Morocco , and other Arab countries to become networked ngos and use social media for civil society goals. The highlight of third day was a VIP Lunch with project sponsors, implementation team, and remote participation via skype from members of the In-Country teams in Jordan and Morocco. Widad El Hanafi, Country Director in Morocco gave an overview of the challenges faced by NGOS in her country and social media use.

” The conference marked the end of an 18-month capacity building program that trained more than 220 NGOs in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia on how to use social media effectively to advance civil society. The program accomplished the following: 220 organizations participated.
