I rely on technology to keep my life organized. I have work and personal Google calendars that tell me what I have to do and when. And I know there has to be some great apps out there specifically designed to help young adults like her organize and communicate. Wishlist for Google: parental controls.

Not being able to organize/sync bookmarks was a bit of a deal breaker. Frankly, the way Google does "beta" it's more like the dev version is the beta while the beta is a release version. Google Apps friendly. Now, finally, the dev channel of Chrome has extensions and I'm happy to be back. Too much updating.

In our organization, all contacts are in Salesforce regardless of whether or not they've ever given us a dime, directly or indirectly. Maybe they followed a link from a Google Ad. We were recently awarded an expansion of our Google Grant to $40K a month so some of our new constituency comes from there.

So frustrated that none are singing to me the way Salesforce or Google Apps did when I first tried them out. . Gantt and/or clear calendar view that includes milestones and multi-day phases - bonus if it syncs with Google Calendar. There is no bird's eye view for an organization. We already use Google Talk.

So it’s surprising to me that thus far, Apple has done little to help families organize their iLives. Apple should know which iCloud accounts belong to minors, the way Facebook and Google do. Teenager #2 has her dad’s hand-me-down iPhone 4 and my hand-me-down 2009 MacBook. I see many families like ours.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great for other organizations. We have a couple of email listservs on Google Groups of our top-tier advocates that we've been interested in migrating to an online community. Folks who care about us also care about 1000 other things and other organizations.

Disadvantages: In the past 2 years, Salesforce has introduced more updates that benefit organizations that have a traditional account<->opportunity model than I can count. As our organization expands, I’d have to pay for additional licenses. Common Ground and the Starter Pack will probably still be there a year from now.

My mantra: if it takes longer to keep my tasks organized than it takes to do the tasks, then it's the wrong solution. Last year I bounced back and forth between Remember the Milk and Google's built-in task management. RTM is great. But it's very browser-dependent. It wasn't in my face enough outside of the browser.
