The Best Premier League Sides to Watch So Far This Season

Update on

When it comes to streaming, the best and most entertaining content is what most people hunt down. For sports fans, the Premier League is the most attractive football competition on the planet, largely due to its competitive nature and the strong dose of entertainment that a typical top-flight encounter in England serves up.

Of course, the vast majority of football watchers have a team they follow or support passionately, but on occasions their favourite side might not have a game or it might not be televised. As such, it’s good to know the best sides to watch should your preferred club not be playing on a given day.

Looking at Premier League betting, the bigger sides are regularly featured at the top of the pile when it comes to winning the league, such as Arsenal at 8/1 and Manchester City at 1/5, but both title contenders aren’t the only entertaining teams worth watching this season.

In fact, this year’s Premier League is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet, with a selection of sides showing that they’re more than worthy of taking up some streaming time at the moment. Let’s assess some of them below.

Crystal Palace

The aforementioned Arsenal and Manchester City are blessed with talented individuals who certainly know how to put on a show, but smaller teams are also capable of entertaining mass audiences. One of them is Crystal Palace, a team that has made a relatively slow start to the current Premier League campaign but possesses an array of promising youngsters who add to their all-round well structured approach under Patrick Vieira.

The Arsenal legend has assembled a young and exciting side blessed with academy graduates, such as Tyrick Mitchell, and a number of bright prospects in the shape of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise, Marc Guéhi, and Odsonne Édouard. Throw in talisman Wilfried Zaha and the ever present Joachim Andersen, and the Eagles will surely be pushing up the table soon.

Chelsea

Although the current Chelsea backline is some way behind the resolute unit Jose Mourinho put together in the 2004/05 season, the Blues’ somewhat leaky defence makes them an entertaining side to watch this season, especially when you throw in the new-found attacking intent they’re showing under freshly appointed manager, Graham Potter.

The former Brighton boss showcased his attacking beliefs at a Seagulls side that have been well and truly punching above their weight in the last few years. Now, with a totally different scenario at Chelsea and essentially more pressure on his shoulders, just how the club based in Fulham will fare this season is hard to predict.

With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz spearheading the attack, though, Chelsea could kick on once again under Potter.

Tottenham

The third-highest scorers in the league behind both Arsenal and Manchester City at the time of writing, a side containing the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevski always has the potential to blow opponents away. Spurs, managed by Juventus hero Antonio Conte, haven’t quite hit their full stride yet but they’re likely to kick on further in the coming weeks, especially given their aspirations to secure another top four spot this season.

Given Conte’s high-intensity style, which utilises attacking full-backs alongside the aforementioned deadly foursome in attack, Tottenham are a team to follow this season.

Brighton

Brighton

Despite Graham Potter’s exit from the club, Brighton are a side worth dedicating some time to this season. With new manager Roberto De Zerbi having a similar philosophy to the former Östersund’s coach, the Seagulls are still the front foot, attack-minded team that many neutrals have warmed to.

In fact, under De Zerbi, Brighton appear to be even more attacking, something that was on show at Anfield recently. Star players to watch include Leandro Trossard, Pascal Grob, and Alexis Mac Allister.

Other sides worth watching include Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Liverpool.
