Tomorrow morning, I’ll be leaving on a jet plane, to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2010 Nonprofit Technology Conference. This will be my 7th NTC since 2001 (or, more accurately, my 5th. I went to two Circuit Rider Roundups.). I’m looking forward to it. I’m speaking in two sessions: “ Collaborative Problem Solving for Consultants &# organized by Robert Weiner, and “ Earth to Cloud &# part of the fabulous Tech Track organized by Peter Campbell.

I've been trying to find a way to keep my appointment times from moving around on my calendar as I change time zones. Clients are served more effectively, and donor resources are used more efficiently. Particularly in this economy, this is the responsible way to work. Great to see two social enterprise bloggers, Kylie Eastley of Tasmania and Tristan Pollock from Minnesota, won Halle Tecco's contest on Huffington Post to go to the Social Enterprise Alliance Summit later this month in San Francisco. I just heard from Jerr Boschee, the interim CEO of SEA, that registrations are already well ahead of past Summits, and that over 30% of the attendees are coming from outside the United States.

Charles Lee It's conference season and I will be on the road at various conferences this week and next. So expect some live blogging, and reflections. Because of the generous matching funds from Convio, large donations from thePort and Firefly Partners, and the support of nearly 200 nptechies , we were able to surpass our scholarship campaign goal and bring nearly 70 staffers from small nonprofits to the 2010 Nonprofit Technology Conference. That was the meat, now here's the pudding: the NTEN community's remake of "Bohemian Rhapsody", Muppets style!

This year the Nonprofit Technology Conference turns 10! I've been going for the past nine years and every year it is like a family reunion. I have a number of colleagues who I have been seeing almost every year at the NTC for the past decade. The big takeaway for me from the Creating a Culture of Storytelling session at NTC was that organizations can very easily do more to tell their stories, and this act alone could be the most important thing nonprofits do to gain donors, supporters, and relevance. It was helmed by Mercy Corps ' Roger Burks , who I'd already chatted with about this topic, in addition to Equality California' s Jay Davis and Forum One Communications ' Michaela Guerin Hackner.

My favorite TV show right now is Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. Yes, it has reality show moments (really, did the high school students have to cook a meal for 80 people after a week of training?), but its message is clear: we need to return to eating real (unprocessed) food, and to cooking from scratch. The show takes place in Huntington, West Virginia, one of the country's "fattest" and "unhealthiest" cities.

Wild Apricot software version 3.4 was successfully launched on Sunday, March 28th. Well, almost successfully. Backing up the whole system and converting data (especially documents and pictures being moved to new storage) has taken much more time than we had estimated and our dry runs had indicated. So instead of restoring the service at 8 a.m., as planned, we were only able to restore it by 1 p.m.

What an incredible line up of panels the folks at NTEN programmed for the 10th annual NTC - scheduled for April 8th - 10th in Atlanta. With so many informative panels to choose from (such as Diversifying Your Tech and Online Communications Teams by Frogloop bloggers Jocelyn Harmon and myself as well as Ivan Booth and Shireen Mitchell) on topics ranging from online fundraising, recruitment, and social media - it was a real challenge to come up with my top 12 picks.

Howdy from NTC 2010 in Atlanta. The conference got started this morning, and I just got out of the Social Media Veterans affinity group, which was basically a crowd of about 100 social media-savvy folks chatting about how they effectively use Twitter, Facebook, and other social media tools at their organizations. The session was run by TechSoup's own Rachel Weidinger, and some really interesting ideas bubbled up during the discussion.
